Dill Seeds Oil Distillation Plant
The Dill (Seeds) Distillation Plant is an advanced, fully-integrated system designed for the extraction of essential oil from dried dill seeds (Anethum graveolens) using steam or hydro-distillation methods. Dill seed oil is widely recognized for its warm, slightly spicy aroma and its rich content of carvone, making it valuable in the food, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and aromatherapy industries. MechoTech’s plant ensures high oil yield, excellent quality retention, and energy-efficient operation across a wide range of production capacities.
The process begins with cleaning and drying of dill seeds to remove impurities and enhance oil recovery. The seeds are loaded into a stainless-steel distillation vessel, where steam or water is introduced to vaporize the volatile oil components. The vapor is condensed and passed into an oil-water separator, where dill seed oil naturally separates and is collected for filtration and packaging.
The plant consists of:
- Seed cleaning and preparation system
- Steam or hydro-distillation chamber
- Steam generator/boiler
- Condenser and oil separator
- Essential oil storage and filtration tanks
This natural, chemical-free process ensures that key compounds such as carvone, limonene, and dillapiol are preserved, resulting in a high-quality essential oil suitable for multiple industries.
