CRTO Extract (Curcuma, Rose, Terminalia, Ocimum)
Commonly referring to a combination extract of Curcuma longa (Turmeric), Rosa centifolia (Rose), Terminalia chebula (Haritaki), and Ocimum sanctum (Tulsi). These herbs are often combined for their synergistic antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and rejuvenating properties in herbal formulations.
Extraction Process
- Harvesting & Cleaning: Each herb is selected in its dried form – rhizome for turmeric, petals for rose, fruit for haritaki, and leaves for tulsi.
- Drying : Cleaned to remove dirt and foreign particles; dried under controlled temperature to preserve active compounds.
- Grinding : Crushed or powdered to increase the surface area for efficient extraction.
- Solvent Extraction: Polyphenols and essential oils from rose and tulsi may require gentle solvent or steam extraction.
- Filtration & Concentration: The liquid extract is filtered and concentrated under reduced pressure to obtain a thick extract or paste.
- Separation & Purification : The extract may be spray-dried or freeze-dried to form a powder.
- Drying (Optional) : The final CRTO extract is standardized to ensure consistent active ingredient content – such as % of curcumin, polyphenols, or tannins.
